Meghan Cardwell-Wilson

Meghan Cardwell-Wilson has been a dancer and a writer all of her life. She earned an M.F.A. in dance performance and choreography from Texas Woman’s University where she was the recipient of the Excellence in Research and Writing Award and a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Prior to graduate dance study, she attended Austin College in Sherman, TX, graduating with a B.A. in English and Philosophy. Cardwell-Wilson has studied at the American Dance Festival in New York City, working with John Jasperse, Mark Haim, Gerri Houlihan, and Lisa Race. This summer she will study with Bebe Miller and Nancy Stark Smith at Bates Dance Festival in Maine. She has presented her work throughout the DFW area and performed the work of Larry Keigwin, Amy O’Neal, Sarah Gamblin, and others at venues extending from Texas to Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati, OH. Cardwell-Wilson has taught dance studio and theory courses for Texas Woman’s University, Tarrant County College, and North Central Texas College. She currently serves on the board of directors for Ghost Town Arts Collective, a non-profit arts co-op dedicated to presenting the work of regional artists in visual and performing arts. Ms. Wilson will join the dance faculty as a full time professor at Collin County College in the fall of 2009.

Kiera Amison

A recent graduate of Texas Womans University with a BA in dance and teacher certification - Kiera began her dance training at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. At Arts Magnet she was a member of the Booker T. Washington Folk Dance Company and Young Audience Dance Ensemble. Kiera continued her dance training at Tarrant County College where she danced in all four dances that were showcased at the American College Dance Festival in 2003. In January of 2006 Kiera traveled to New York for the National Association of Blacks in Dance conference where she participated in technique classes, lectures and performances by modern dance companies. Kiera is currently teaching dance in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Elaine Hernandez

Elaine Hernandez is a native of Dallas, Texas. Elaine has a an affinity for dance, music, theater, and art. Elaine is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance in May 2009. Ms. Hernandez is an intricate collective member of Muscle Memory Dance Theatre and shares their collaborative vision to support work of North Texas dance artists since 2006. Elaine has performed in various venues and festivals including the Dallas Museum of Art, Collin College, Tarrant County College, Dance for the Planet, Brazos Dance Festival, Lakewood Summer Arts Faire, South Dallas Dance Festival, Dallas City Arts Festival, Dallas Fringe Festival and Out of the Loop Festival. Elaine most recently had her choreography showcased in PILOT 2009 at the Sanders Theatre, Fort Worth.
